The Boyle County Homeless Coalition was established as a direct outcome of the Boyle County Task Force on Homelessness, which was initiated in 2023 under the leadership of Magistrate Steve Sleeper. In 2024, following significant groundwork laid by the task force, the Boyle County Homeless Coalition was formed to continue and expand upon its mission. Upon the formation of the coalition, the task force formally concluded its efforts. The coalition received its 501(c)(3) nonprofit designation in 2025, solidifying its role as a dedicated organization addressing homelessness in Boyle County.
Mission
The Boyle County Homeless Coalition has been organized for the purpose of working to reduce, assist and prevent homelessness through community partnerships, advocacy, education and kindness.

The three areas of focus regarding homelessness are: Basic Needs, Sheltering Options, and Case Management. While the Boyle County Homeless Coalition will not directly supply the services, the organization will work to convene concerned groups, agencies, and individuals who can address these needs.

We will work with other local agencies such as city and county entities, churches, organizations, and individuals to obtain funding and volunteers to help us provide access to temporary shelter for our at risk and homeless population.

There are many reasons people are without shelter. Our plan is to meet individuals where they are, at a time in their lives when they are unable to provide shelter for themselves.
Together we can improve the lives of our homeless community. Our vision is to ensure that people within our community are provided with resources, opportunities and alternatives to homelessness and the conditions arising from homelessness.
